One way to reduce the risk of pilling is to ensure that garments are washed correctly. If the garment contains wool, it should always be washed on the wool program if machine washing. Do not spin. Do not turn wool garments inside out but wash with the right side facing outward. This way you can get rid of the short loose fibers during washing and thus avoid them gathering on the fabric surface. Cashmere is more sensitive and should be hand washed.
