Baking soda is a versatile natural product. Use baking soda to replace traditional cleaning products in an environmentally friendly way. It neutralizes odors, making it suitable for cleaning and laundry.
Cleaning tips with baking soda:
- Sprinkle over mattresses, sofas, or carpets, let sit for 30 minutes and vacuum up. Removes odors and reduces dust mites.
- Perfect as a vacuum cleaner fragrance.
- Suitable for most surfaces in the home. For extra tough cleaning, e.g., stovetop or toilet: first pour on vinegar and then baking soda for maximum effect. The surface becomes thoroughly cleaned, without any harmful residues.
- Use as a natural bleach in laundry and as a stain remover.

Facts: Baking soda is produced from sodium salt from carbonic acid, a natural combination of carbon dioxide and water. Previously, it was extracted from soda, but today it is usually produced with carbon dioxide from, for example, rock salt. Baking soda can be purified to almost 100% and should not be confused with baking powder, which consists of sodium bicarbonate mixed with stabilizing and anti-caking agents.
Baking soda is slightly alkaline and gets a pH value of approximately 8 when mixed with water. It is a completely natural substance found in oceans, waterways, and in the ground.
