Spirulina
Spirulina is a freshwater microalgae. It is one of the earliest life forms on Earth and is incredibly rich in nutrients. It's called blue-green algae due to the presence of chlorophyll and phycocyanin. Chlorophyll is what makes plants green and is known to aid in tissue growth and repair, possess antioxidant properties, and optimize the body's absorption of many vitamins and minerals.
Spirulina provides a broad spectrum of nutrients with many benefits. Its cell walls contain no cellulose, which means its nutrients easily pass through the intestinal wall and can be utilized by our cells. Spirulina's impressive nutritional content is therefore highly bioavailable. Spirulina contains protein (all essential amino acids), carbohydrates, minerals, vitamins (except C and D), gamma-linolenic acid, chlorophyll, phycocyanin, and antioxidants. It is a complete protein and is easily digestible for the body.
History of Spirulina:
Spirulina is one of Earth's oldest life forms, an algae. In the ancient Maya and Aztec cultures, it was highly valued for its healing and strengthening effects and was frequently used as a dietary supplement. This "food of the gods" was believed to provide quick energy and increase the body's resistance and strength. In African Knembu tribes, Spirulina has also been used as a source of nutrition since ancient times.

Adult Dosage: Take 1/2 - 2 teaspoons maximum per day (preferably 30 minutes before meals); in a glass of water, in smoothies, in dressing, or in other ways. Start with a smaller dose and build up to a consumption level that feels right for you. Athletes and other high-performing individuals can experiment with even higher doses for optimal effect.

Dosage for children: If you want to mask the "fishy taste" for adults who don't like the flavor or for children, for example in a green smoothie, sweeten it with some fresh apple juice or banana - this usually works well. Children can take 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon.
